Symposium Location

The Gender Expansive Live Streaming Symposium will take place on the campus of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts on October 4-5, 2024.

There are many ways to reach Smith College, so be sure to explore your transit options. Northampton is served by the local PVTA bus service, Amtrak trains, and Peter Pan & Greyhound buses. The campus is 35 miles from Bradley Airport (BDL) and 100 miles from Logan Airport (BOS). From interstate highway I-91, the college can be reached from the north by Exit 26 and from the south by Exit 23.

Oct. 4: Workshop

During the first day of the symposium we will convene ten guest experts with a select group of researchers and practitioners in a comfy workshop environment for lively discourse about gender expansive live streaming. Check-in is in the Lobby. Workshop sessions happen in the Conference Room.

On the National Register of Historic Places situated at the edge of Northampton’s downtown district, the Alumnae House was constructed in 1937 and renovated in 2022, primarily through the generosity of Smith College alums.

Oct. 5: Conference

On the second day of the symposium, we will hold a public conference featuring a series of keynotes, panels, and lightning talks. If you would like to attend the conference, please complete the Registration process.

Registration and refreshments are in the Atrium. Program sessions take place in Room 240.

As a LEED Gold certified building, Ford Hall became the new home of science and engineering at Smith in 2010. With a grand open atrium showcasing the inner workings of this highly sustainable facility, Ford hums with activity all day and into the late STEM nights.
