Johanna Brewer they/them
Johanna Brewer, PhD, is an assistant professor of computer science at Smith College and the director of research for AnyKey, a nonprofit that advocates for inclusion in gaming and live streaming. Their human-computer interaction research explores how communities creatively challenge surveillance capitalism and their software engineering work seeks to spur social change on media platforms. They are co-editor of the recent book Real Life in Real Time: Live Streaming Culture (MIT Press, 2023).
Morgan Romine she/her
Morgan Romine, PhD, is the co-founder and director of initiatives at AnyKey. As an anthropologist and game industry veteran, her research focuses on esports community management. Formerly co-founder and captain of the Frag Dolls, an all-women professional gaming team, Morgan received the IndieCade Game Changer Award and the Esports Awards Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.
